48 hours... in Seattle

Back in October I spend a weekend for work in Seattle... and had a wonderful time.  A few snapshots from my weekend in Seattle.

The view from my room... such a pretty sunrise.

I spent Saturday exploring the city... which meant a lot of time in the market.

The flowers were amazing... so sad I couldn't bring any home!

The market had so much to offer... I was tempted to ample everything!

A trip to the market wasn't complete without watching them throwing fish... such fun!

You can't make a trip to Seattle without a little Starbucks... and a trip to see the original Starbucks!

True Seattle... watching the ferry come in.

And nothing like a 5:20am fire alarm when you are on the 15th floor of the hotel!

Oh... and a PANTHERS WIN in Seattle.  A great way to end the weekend!

See you again next time, Seattle.

Scenes from an iPhone

First... exactly where did September and October go?  I mean seriously... it is NOVEMBER!

Starting this month... a few random thoughts from my iPhone.

This was SO me last week... and well just about every week.  Ha!

Loving this look.... I mean makes it look effortless!

YOU.  MUST.  TRY.  NOW.  My favorite thing in the world!

I can't be the only one excited for LUKE BRYAN to perform at halftime of the PANTHERS game on THANKSGIVING!!!  Ok... enough yelling the news...  You get the point!

Seriously.  Like me every night.  No seriously...

Can the halloween costumes get any better?  LUKE nailed it!

Trying to remember this every day!

So what does one do when they realize they have a weekend off coming up... of course look to see where I can go.  So, would you go warm or cold??

That's all going on according to my iPhone this week!

24 hours....in Blowing Rock

So I had a rare weekend off this past weekend and spent a few days around the house meeting with workers, contractors, plumbers... and trying to deal with my office that was the catch-all for all the things I have not unpacked yet.  Luckily I planned about a week ago to work on house stuff on Thursday and Friday, and then leave on Saturday for a mini getaway.

Insert Blowing Rock and the Westglow Spa.  I had never been to Westglow before, but highly recommend it if you are looking for a spa and some decompression time.  Now - if you are the type of person that needs to be doing something constantly - this isn't the place for you.  But if R&R is in your nature, then come join me in the future!

Upon arrival you are greeted with the most adorable front porch!

When I arrived in the room, a welcome drink along with the nicest note... and a very sweet gift from a friend who knew I was staying there!

My room was so quaint and perfect.  Now... can we discuss the rose petals on my bed?  nothing screams you are a loser like a party of one checking into a room with ROSE PETALS... but it was very nice!

Now... I am not going to be the person that took photos of all of her food... but I did love the charger plate and the cute white pumpkin on the table.  Let me just say my four course meal was amazing... and the bread... oh my!  Plus... they gave me an array of 5 different salts to choose from.  Hello... amazing!

Don't you just love a hotel that still gives you a KEY to use?  Swoon...

When I arrived back in my room after dinner, a fresh pitcher of citrus water was waiting on my silver tray.  Complete with chocolates and another flower on my pillow.

The next day started still overcast, but enjoying my coffee and the most amazing egg EVER in the sunroom.

And a few photos of the grounds while having my morning walk...

After my walk I got back in bed and started on book 2 of the weekend...

Then the sun came out.. so another walk with fresh coffee was in order!

I then headed to the spa.... which was amazing!

I mean can you beat the view in the relaxation room?

And the perfect spot as the weather warmed up for lunch.

I think this was my favorite spot in the spa... sitting by the window in the most cozy blanket waiting for my treatment and drinking the most amazing tea/cider concoction!

And a few parting shots before leaving.

24 hours.... in Buffalo

I had the opportunity to go to Buffalo for work and was not going to be that close to Niagara Falls and not see it.  Now... funny story... for some reason I wasn't expecting all of the tourists, or to get completely SOAKED on the Maid of the Mist... but I learned that lesson pretty quick.

Funny story - a coworker gave me the advice that you need to stay on the back of the boat to not get soaked.  So that is what we did... we boarded to the top deck and went to the back of the boat... having been assured that we would not get wet.  When I recounted the story to him that we got soaked... he said "well I didn't think I needed to tell you to stay at the back of the boat on the bottom deck."  Ummm.... yeah... so about that... LOL!

We stayed on the American side of the Falls, but very cool.  Certainly needs to be on your must see list.

The weather started out very overcast, but the sun peeked through by the time we left....

Right about now the "mist" was so heavy you thought it was raining... hard!

Not sure if the rainbow always appears, but so amazing!
