48 hours... in Charleston

So I decided that in 2016 I wanted to take small, but wonderful trips, in the US as my vacation.  Don't get me wrong - my time in Europe was incredible...stressful...but amazing.  So this year, I have set a calendar to have some fun right here at home.

The first of these wonderful weekends was Charleston.  Now, not really sure why I have not spent more weekends in Charleston, as it is easier to get to than the beach, wonderful sights, and amazing food.

So a quick look at my weekend in Charleston!

We stayed at the Charleston Place - and I must say - with the exception of the t.i.n.y. parking spaces in the parking deck - it was amazing.  Very relaxing and so close to everything!

When we arrived on Friday, we took a walk around town around sunset to just wander through the streets and take in the sights of the history.

When we got back to our room... the most amazing homemade pimento cheese - ever!  Such a great treat waiting for us... and of course the fruit, crackers and wine didn't hurt either!

If you have been around me a long time, you know I have an issue with paint.  For years in my condo, I searched for the color to paint my walls - and never did.  Once I moved into my townhome, I was determined to paint... and thought I had settled on a color... until I walked in my room and loved the wall color.  Yes, I was the crazy lady testing the concierge by asking the color of the paint.  And he knew it!

Dinner the first night was at the Charleston Grill and it certainly didn't disappoint.  So yummy!

Saturday was spent walking around again and then taking a carriage tour of the city - which I highly recommend!

Wait... concert..what??  Come on.... I didn't go anywhere unless there was a concert involved.  You knew better.  Insert Garth Brooks on Saturday night... and Sunday night!

For the record... this should not be a ticket.  Just saying!

And night two...

A great weekend in Charleston... with a little Garth and Trisha mixed in!

Scenes from an iPhone... from the last 2 months!

Some of these are going to seem like ages ago... but catching up a little bit with life being so hectic since Thanksgiving!  A few things captured by my iPhone!

Can we discuss my Christmas cards for a moment?  Now... a year filled with adventure is under works, the Panthers were playing in February and a house fairy is coming to my house to help this weekend.  So... all I am missing was luke wrapped in a bow?  Come on Santa!

How amazing is this personalized gift tag?  Back in December I got to spend a few hours with some friends in New York, and received an amazing candle from Ralph Lauren.  What does it say when I fell in love with the tag.. I mean, really?

Carrie Underwood performed at the Belk Bowl... and can she be more amazing?  Seriously want her hair... and those legs (is that creepy?? Nah...).  Wow!

Even though we are pushing towards spring... I still want this amazing vest that Caroline Bryan rocked on New Year's Eve.  Stunning!

So at some point in January when I could not enjoy a snow day... it snowed.  And I shoveled a driveway and realized I was not prepared for that.  But it was an amazing workout!

Have you seen the Luke Kuechly commercials with the Luke gnome for CPI?  Hello Luke gnome!

I am so excited to become an aunt.  My brother and his wife had the gender reveal party last weekend... and Daddy and I voted right... two little girls!  Going to be two very spoiled little girls!

Fresh flowers make me very happy... and these were amazing!

Hello....it's me....

I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet....

Yes it feels like years since the last post.  As so much happened.  That is still heartbreaking.

Now, ,before the two people reading this panic... yes, I realize I am taking about something very superficial... but heartbreaking nonetheless.

So... we will skip that for now and get back to posting about some fun things and some updates as I push towards the end of my 40 before 40 challenge.

Catching up with you soon... as I come back to the land of the living and sane!
